The RISO printing principle is therefore very similar to that of screen printing. The final print looks handmade—that is, beautiful, not perfect. The process is also environmentally friendly. The ink is based on fairly produced soybean oil, and the masters are made from Japanese wax paper. The machine consumes very little energy because RISO printing is a cold-press printing process.
