Hornsea's design director, John Clappison, originally drew this fantastic design for a range of ceramics, produced around 1967. Magpie redesigned this very pretty pattern from the original artworks archived at the Hornsea Museum and created new ceramic molds to make a range of stackable cups, glazing them with authentic Hornsea colours from the period.
This cup is made of stoneware and hand-glazed, so each one is unique.
Dishwasher and microwave safe.
Hornsea Potteries was founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson.
This typically British brand created revolutionary designs over the following decades, until its final closure in 2000.
Hornsea's legacy remains an important source of inspiration for many illustrators and artists today.
